Stuck
Stuck…
You can’t move forward and there’s no going back. Paralyzed by some unknown force inside you. Overwhelmed and unable to begin anything even if you know it will cause you to be ‘unstuck.’ Any attempt to move forward is quickly destroyed by the dominant hand of something that causes you to plunge deeper into… stuck.
Stuck becomes “Home.”
First, I would like to say I am not “trained” to diagnose “stuck.” But,…my friends, I have SO.. been.. STUCK.
Somewhere deep inside maybe you know why you’re stuck but it’s just too scary to face…or… Maybe being unstuck involves letting go of something, or someone that is unhealthy and difficult to be without. Sometimes you’re stuck in a bad coping habit…maybe you drink too much…maybe you eat too much…maybe you sleep too much…. When stuck lasts too long, depression can follow.
Whatever your “stuck” looks like,…own it. It’s really ok. We all get stuck sometimes. Once you own it you can move on to understand the feeling it is giving you, so you can see the urgency in becoming unstuck. These can be some very difficult feelings. If you really can’t sort out these feelings, seek help from a professional who can guide you to a safe place of better understanding.
Be honest with yourself and accept your own challenges. You’re really not alone in this. If your stuck is taking over your life, I am willing to bet there is a group you can join to support you.
Please solve your “stuck.” Life is too precious to make an unhealthy stop. Life is forward.
