“Happy Mother’s Day”

I am not one blessed with motherhood. That said, I have some … perhaps unexpected. … insights about mothers.

I have a younger friend that I tend to “mother” and I am incredibly proud of her…still… I cannot “feel” the overflow of blessings one of my friends feels because her daughter passed the bar. I am the mother of pets that I tirelessly care for no matter what they are going through…still… I cannot begin to understand the tirelessness that a mother goes through while raising children. In short, I understand, that I do not understand.

I am in awe.

As I travel through my childless adult life, I am ABSOLULTELY sure that I would be a better person if I was a mother. Mothers do it all on instinct, which is why they ask for nothing. Everything they do is just because it’s what they do!

Mothers are blessed and tired - Mothers know the highest highs and the lowest lows – Mothers have unimagined personal strength – Mothers are actually superhuman…I really mean that…SUPER…HUMAN.

When you shake it down and pour it all out, the end of it all is, your mother is the beginning of EVERYTHING for you. She is your first love…she IS love. She is why you love and how you love. Your life is the most important thing to her.

Imagine that! You have always been incredibly important because of your mother. From the time of conception, you have been #1. For 9 months and, who knows how much longer, it has literally been “All about you!”

How blessed are we who know a mother’s love!
